    PayPal Bounce Page security warning

    Ths morning we did a test transaction and noticed that the bounce page for PayPal displayed that awful "some items on this page are not secure.." message. When I clicked no the only thing that didn't appear was the Paypal logo, implying that this was now being drawn from a non-ssl source.

    We have never had this problem before and haven't changed anything so wondering;

    a) where is that logo drawn from as i can't find the code for its link anywhere

    b) has anyone else noticed this as wondering if it is an issue with Paypal.

    Cheers
    Rob

    Are the image references on the page relative or written in full?

      Hi Lee

      Truth is I can't tell as with the design layout for the PSP bounce page and the ssl bounce page the only graphic that shows is a next button along with some other variables that dont include any graphics reference.

      We never added the PSP logos manually so I assume they are either built into Actinic or come direct from the PSP as defined in some variable? However, I could well just be looking in the wrong page?

      Thanks
      Rob

        Save a copy of the Paypal logo into your site1 folder, include it into addtional file list and then reference it relatively (like all other images on the page) from your own site. I'm not a fan of buggering off to other sites to get graphics, if their site is down or not working properly, it can make mine look like junk.

        In short you are keeping a copy for yourself, instead of toddling off to Paypal to go and get it.

          Hi Lee

          My problem was not knowing where to look. I had to open the Act_OCCPayPalTemplate in the CommonOCC folder to see where it was drawing the image from so have now changed this to a local image.

          Strange though that it has never thrown up the security warning before so I wonder if there has been a change somewhere with Actinic or Paypal as we have never edited that template before. It was definately drawing it fomr a non https url.

          Thanks for the help

            Not really sure Rob to be honest, maybe a version upgrade or could have been a minor problem at Paypal end. I was thinking you was talking about extra images in a sidebar or alike, not the actual Paypal integrated button - that is a strange error for sure. Something must have changed somewhere to cause it, we may never know what.
