    Credit Card Setup

I cannot find any info on the forum, so I hope this is not so obvious that I am an idiot for asking,
I have just setup Paypal Pro on my site and it takes the credit card payment on the site, according to my Paypal account I can accept

    Visa
    Switch
    Discover
    American Express
    Solo
    MasterCard

But in my checkout I only have
Switch (with or without issue number)
    Visa and Mastercard

I know how to add a credit card in business settings, but what are the settings for the other cards, Solo, Discover and American Express.
Do they have Issue number, CVV2(how many digits).

Also are Switch and Maestro the same card type?

Funnily enough I was going to ask the same thing! I made a stupid mistake and cleared them all as I thought they were individual per payment type but turned out it was global. By the time I realised, I had made too many changes to get my backup.. hey ho.

    p.

p.s. Switch is dead, long live Maestro.

Within actinic you only set up paypalpro, it is your acct with PPP that determines which cards you take...

(well thats how it is for all other PSPs- i hope/assume PPP is the same)

I thought with PPP you can also use a virtual thingamie so that you take the card details from actinic and process it your self manually?

If so, you would need to duplicate all the options within actinic also...?

Correct but only if you use ssl to download the credit card details into actinic - which defeats the object of having PPP.

Why not just use paypal with actinic and use PPP virtual terminal.

Paypal Pro does decide which cards you can take, but the details of the card are filled in on actinic site so you need to have the other cards listed on your site so people can select them, although you can take solo for example, when customers see only switch, visa and mastercard they will assume that you can't use solo.

These other cards need setting up with whether cvv2 is needed and the amount of digits in the cvv2 and also if there is an issue number.

I personally do not have American express or solo or discover cards so have no idea whether they need cvv2 or issue number.

perhaps, yes but I've hunted this information before and had trouble finding it (not even sure if I did in the end)

I'd answer the question to the OP but I don't know the answer.
Surely someone does so why is everyone so keen to post reasons why the OP shouldn't be asking rather than lending some assistance!?
