    PayPal Pro Limited by Location

I've had a good search but cant find anything relating to this but I'm trying to add PayPal Pro as a payment method but it doesnt allow me to use the 'Limited by Location' option.

Does anybody know why this might be or am I doing something wrong.
    Regards
    Sally

It's always been like that for me too, it's not you. Heaven knows why, it hasn't been the smoothest of additions to the list of PSPs. See it as a blessing and use something better, the new Actinic Payments seems like it will be very good, many of us are looking forward to it.

I'm still waiting for Actinic to let us know how PaypalPro is going to pass PCI compliance, as it uses SSL on the client webserver.

If Actinic are dropping all support for SSL and shared SSL - where does PPP sit?

        Hi,

Because Paypal Pro has two methods (Express and Direct Payments), it makes it a bit more complicated than usual. The Limited by Location isn't available for PayPal Pro because the location is determined by Paypal and not Actinic and therefore we would only be able to enforce it when the customer returns from Paypal site (using the Express method). I don't think customers would be happy to go through Paypal and return to the site to find that their order has just been cancelled because their location was rejected for that method.

With the Direct Payments option you have to add the 'credit card details captured for later processing' option to your list of payment methods and you can limit this by location so the 'credit card' option will not be available to any country not in the list and will therefore stop people from using the Paypal Pro (Direct Payments) option.

Where did you hear this from Jo? Our Shared SSL service will eventually fade away but we should still be providing the option for customers to use SSL in the software. Paypal give some information about using them and PCI DSS Compliancy at https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/we...liance-outside
