    Javascript, Cookies, IE6 and AP!

I'm getting some payment failures from customers who are getting the attached screen when moving from the store to the AP payment interface.
They are not getting any cookie errors or warning messages at any other point in the store, such as 'add to cart' which I know sometimes gives a cookie warning.

I generated the attached error when trying it in IE6 (which is installed on my machine as an 'add on' as it's actually running IE7)

Javascript and cookies are both enabled. So why the message? Anyone else, using AP, come across this problem?

I can recreate this on IE6 too but not in IE7. I've put it to the development team to see if we can find out why.

      Thanks, Tracey
I'm relieved to know you were able to recreate it because I know it doesn't happen to every IE6 customer, only some.
But I do know that the ones it is happening to (myself included) DID have both javascript and cookies enabled so it shouldn't have been a problem.
      Cheers

Just to let you know that we have CreditCall investigating this problem and I'll let you know what's happening as soon as I know.

              Hi Andrew,

Have you been able to test this on your site and replicate the problem?

Yes, I can confirm that you get this error on your site with IE6. I've asked our developers to chase Credit call for an answer to this problem.

This is not AP specific, this is browser related, i've seen it a lot of times on all sorts of sites and payment methods when using IE6. 99% of the time if you repeat the process, it goes through fine next time. Never quite solved it tbh, it sure is IE6 though causing it, roll on IE8.

It seems as though this is caused by some earlier versions of IE 6 as we can't recreate the problems in the later versions and neither can Creditcall. I've asked if the error message can include a message about browser versions so that customers know that they can do something about it.

I would disagree personally as i have seen this fail on latest IE6 versions AFAIK. In fact you often find when for example you add to cart on a product and it fires an error message, that when you try again, it not only works this time, but the first time also seems to have worked as quantity is always 2. Security/cookie related for me.
