    PROTX Success Page issue!

We have recently changed one of our major websites over to Actinic. We had PROTX working absolutely fine on the previous ecommerce website. However now we have transferred we have had no end of problem.

To make matters worse both Actinic and PROTX have been more or less useless. No one has given us answers, the only progress we have made is by "playing" around with the system ourselves.

However a major issue still exists. We have tried everything suggested on here to get the payments to work however our customers are still not receiving a "success" page and therefore have no idea they have actually purchased anything. Payment seems to be ok in DEFERRED mode and AUTHENTICATE seems to be working.

    Anyone have any ideas?

          Thanks Andrew

Your Protx image states incorporating PP, once I go to checkout I move direct to Protx as per normal.

Can you elaborate (without giving too much away, or you can submit the details privately if you wish) on how the two are linked?

Have you edited the OCC files along the way with some PP IPN code or similar?

          Thanks

PP is incrporated through our protx system, there is no reference to the paypal integration in the OCC files.

              Hi Andrew,

From your post, it looks like your customers bounce over to Protx and can enter their credit card details but you say that they don't receive a 'success' page. Does anything show on the screen or does it just hang? I'm afraid that while you are on the Protx server then it is a Protx problem as we have no access to their servers to check what is happening but they should be able to test an order and try and trace the problem.

                I'm having the same problem...

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of this please?

I'm on their testing site at the moment, but desperate to get a site live by the weekend. It's going through the whole process, the payment is submitted and then it appears that the Protx server doesn't know where to call back to OR has the wrong information from somewhere within actinic. I can't see where this 'call back address' is within actinic or where it would be changed. I get this on the webpage:

                HTTP Status 404 -

                type Status report

                message

description The requested resource () is not available.

And in the address string is the following:

                https://ukvpstest.protx.com/vspgatew...MaHhleZHQaD3U=

Protx say the actinic templates are wrong, and the callback url is wrong, Actinic haven't said a lot yet but are supposed to be getting back to me tomorrow, although they didn't mention anything about the templates and I've got most of it working by fiddling about It wasn't even accepting anything earlier.

I'd appreciate any further information anyone can offer on this thanks.

your last statement tells you all you need to know, the call back url is wrong. If this is the case then find out what url it should be, then it can be changed in the actinic files.

personally i dont think they are wrong, unless your using an earlier version of actinic, in which case you will find that the url's all got changed when they upgraded 18 months ago, but this would have shown itself before you moved to the protx servers at the start of testing your orders.

Having been a fan of PROTX payments, i can honestly say that they have gone down hill since sage took over, support is more interested in blaming everyone else. I have almost decided to move to AP seems to be a lot less troublesome and has the ability to take moto payments directly from actinic, big big big plus in my opinion

Thanks Darren, I'm going to chase Actinic up again as they haven't got back to me yet and find out what the callback SHOULD be and where the heck this is changed. I can't seem to find any reference to this anywhere, it's always happened automatically in the past. We are using the latest version of 9 btw.

I've not ever really been sure on Protx, having had various issues with 'wrong passwords' issues and hours of pain, although I've usually found their support reasonable.

Mind you, it seems I've just got my head around one version of software and another is out with a whole new set of issues

Protx issues are becomming more common and they are not worth the pain imo - actinic payments is better and provides more functionality
