    Newcomer, paypal screen

    Hi

When the checkout screen goes to the paypal site the only options are to sign in to pay me via paypal.

    this one

But there is a screen on some sites that come up with an option to pay via card if you have not got a paypal account, you can pay anyway.

Why doesnt it show this page? or how do i go about having it go to that page insted of the one shown above?

Looks like you are using a personal account - for credit card processing you need a business account with paypal

Mal is correct you need a Premier or Business account to accept credit cards with Paypal.

Also worth noting .. I setup Paypal payments for a customer this week and it seems Paypal have introduced an extra screen similar to the one shown which asks along the lines "are you sure you want to use credit card when you can use Paypal".

A bit of hard sell from Paypal which appears to be losing sales as customers may be getting confused or fed up with too many " do you really want to do this " buttons.

I would only recommend PayPal as backup to other PSPs unless they cut the hardsell.

Just found out what it was, it was in my profile, under web payments, theres an option to tick for paypal account optional, this was set to off.

I am very new and this is my first time online shop for a friend, and the other payment options are very expensive when your starting out. when orders start coming in, hopefully we will look at the others.

Or is there any other good ones that dont require the likes of £20 a month subscription?

Thanks for the advice peeps, much appreciated

Actinic Payments do a cheap startup option that is £100 for up to 800 transactions in a year, with upgrade to the £20 per month option for over 800 transactions.
