Nochex users - any customer feedback?

I was wondering what the feeling was towards Nochex from a customer point of view.

Are they just as comfortable using Nochex as they are with the more well known WorldPay and Paypal?

    Any feedback much appreciated.

    Thanks
    Michelle

I have sites with both Paypal and Nochex and although Nochex is the second choice I find it is rarely used.

Thanks Duncan. Do you think customers don't know it as a brand name like Paypal and therefore avoid it? or they just choose the first option?

I used nochex, the only problem is the branding, and there are sometimes issues with charge backs as the payments appear as nochex on the customer statements not your company, its handy for emergencies i guess, i stopped getting payments through them and no dont use it.

Thanks Darren - Is there no way of changing the wording they get on their statement then?

            Michelle,

Up until your post I've never heard Nochex. Now that may well be because I live under a very mossy rock in North Wales, but unless using it along with a more well known PSP like PayPal, Protx or WorldPay I'd do a lot of research into how many people use/know about it be implementing it in your site.

            IMO

              Probably

Nochex offer a pretty much 'all in one' merchant package that allows you to take credit/debit cards through the website without needing a Nochex account. (as well as offering a 'Paypal' style account)
Up until recently, until Paypal became pretty much globally acceptable, Nochex's offering was an attractive option for small shop owners who had trouble getting merchant accounts/PSPs (with their combined costs)

I don't think the same is necessarily true any more though. Paypal's dominance has meant that Nochex has faded into almost nothing. I had it on my sites until fairly recently but the accounts both got suspended due to 'inactivity' and both are now removed from the site.

tbh, I'd be surprised if it didn't vanish altogether in the future.
              JMHO, obviously.

Duncan, do you get much through it?

Trust me, if that was meant as some sort of innuendo, you'd know about it!

Very little, but because there are still a few orders come through using it I leave there.

                      Thanks, Duncan.
I just wondered really. Nochex (IIRC) was near the bottom of our payment options, I think, and, in at least 2 years, not one person had chosen it.
I was just curious to know whether anyone did nowadays.
                      Thanks for answering

I am currently using NoChex on my website with Paypal as the second choice but it is listed as credit/debit card so customers select it automatically.
I will be switching away to Actini Payments if I ever get my V9 site launched.

It was an ideal first PSP for anybody unable to get a merchant account and was maginally cheaper than Paypal, but I don't like the idea of "Nochex" appearing on the customers statements, although saying that I have never yet had a chargeback.

All good info, many thanks everyone.

Do any of you think that the brand of PSP is relevant to your average customer?

What I mean is, do you think it would make them abort their purchase if they hadn't heard of it or would the average customer not even think about it?

                            Hi Michelle

You haven't given a URL of your site so I can't say how the customer would view your site. But it is all about trust, the more reasons you have for the customer to trust that you will do what you claim the better. Using a well known PSP has got to give the customer more confidence in ordering from you.

                            Regards

and then it would not be an innuendo
