    PayPal Pro - PreAuth?

I've integrated PayPal Pro to my website, but I'm looking for Express transactions to be pre authorised - for me to manually capture once I've processed the order. Looking at PayPal's site they say it can be done (Authorize & Capture) but don't tell you how! Can anyone point me in the right direction, presumably an edit to the OCCPaypalPro.pl file?

    Thanks!

If I understand you correctly, you want to take payments on your website, and also have sight of the customers' card details to process later?

Doesn't sound very PCI compliant to me.

Not exactly - we also use Protx as a PSP, where payment is authorised and we can view transaction details (address etc), but we manually choose whether to accept or abort the payment, without seeing any credit card details. I was thinking PayPal offered something similar, that's the impression I got from reading about Authorize and Capture anyway...

Protx also offer PayPal as an option. Maybe this is your way forward?

maybe you could point us to the documentation you've been reading?

            https://www.paypal.com/IntegrationCe...thcapture.html

"Authorize & Capture can be used in tandem with other PayPal payment options, such as Express Checkout, Direct Payment, and standard payment buttons."

PayPal through Protx might work preauth, I'll look into it.

            Thanks

Update: Accepting PayPal through Protx hasn't made a difference to whether I can accept the transactions Pre Auth or not...

It either can't be done, or there's a setting within PayPal manager that I just can't find, or it's an alteration to the Perl script. When looking at how to set it up on PayPal's documentation, it's all API solutions, which goes totally over my head

              Any ideas?

                Hi,

You certainly can't use pre-auth with Paypal Pro in the Actinic integration. There would be a setting in the 'configure method' button to do so if you could. Only the Paypal Express Checkout option allows you to pre-authorise payments.
