    3D Secure and Actinic Payments

I have had two customers place two duplicate orders and after contacting them they tell me that they tried again because the 3d failed.

One paid with a visa credit card then a meastro and both passed the 3d according to AP admin area.

Has anyone else seen this the orders were palce between 10 & 20 mins apart, the second customer told me they cancelled the order, looks as though i have lost a £40 order as they placed it somewere else and dont require mine

whilst i have no hard evidence i think some payment tranactions are failing due to the pure bulk of online shopping at the mo.

we've had some odd paypal errors recently, i can't put this down to anything except overload on the system.

I would agree - we see it most years but this year even more people are shopping online so things will start to buckle.

I have seen an increase in protx use in the last week and am wondering if this is because of problems with AP, Paypal probably runs about the same % as normal, not a large amount in honesty but worth having.

Just weird that the last customer seems to know about 3D and tells me it informed him it failed, hence the reason for trying a second card. Yet both showed as passed with the usual long code when it does.

ho hum as i said a £40 sale lost

We've certainly seen more failed orders these last 48 hours than we normally see in a week. Fortunately most of the customers returned later and tried again - with success. Those that didn't, I got my girls to call back.

So back to the original post, has anyone experienced customer saying 3D failed yet the order being placed and 3D being authorised.

did they both come into Actinic as completed payments? And as separate, paid for, orders?

(the answer to your Q is no, btw, but I'm just digging for info )

In case any reassurance is needed here, the third party backbone we use for Actinic Payments has massive capacity, most of which is not ecommerce related or seasonal. We have not experienced any bandwith problems, and there is no likelihood of transactions failing due to shortage of capacity there.

As always, our support team will be happy to help with any individual issues affecting particular sites.

                    Hi Bruce

I never mentioned load issues, merely the clients tell me the 3d failed yet AP says it passed, if you ask me this is a problem with the 3D scheme. Somewere between credit call and the bank.

Interesting though one of these used both a visa and meastro. one mastecard one visa?
