Which bank & Merchant ID for Actinic Payments?

    Hello,
The new site is near completion (thanks to lots of patient help from you guys) but now my thoughts have turned to PSP's. I want to go with Actinic Payments but when contacting the supported banks I get less than helpful responses. Firstly they know nothing of creditcall even when the word for word text is read from the Actinic site to them then..........

I know this can be based on circumstances but BMS after persuading me I needed a business account to allow me a merchant ID then inform me at the 11th hour its 14 days for funds in and out, that would surely please refunded customers!

So then HSBC - same issue require me to open an account first (I did) then tell me No to a merchant ID for the first year - ok its credit crunch time but this is not easy. As an aside I'm happy to open the account with at least 10k! So here I am not wanting to open and close another account but hope someone has found a less painfull solution.

What I'm really asking is: Is there a known route to obtaining a merchant ID for Actinic Payments where a bank is recognised as being slightly better than my first two experiences? I would hope for maybe funds to be in or out within 3 or 4 working days for transactions and refunds and an ID in a week or two rather than a year!!

    Thanks Ed

You could try streamline, which is free of set-up charges if you are e member of the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).

Interesting reading, thanks. It seems its luck of the draw who you get on the end of the phone, not nice when your business and livelyhood depends on one persons poor training...

We had the same response the first time we spoke to Streamline, too. However, this week we had our meeting with them and the guy, called Ben Brind, now knows what Actinic and CreditCall are all about. Call Streamline and ask to speak to a business manager - use his name if need be. He doesn't cover your area (he's for NW and West London) but he might be able to fill in the person who does.

Actinic Payments (known to the banks as Creditcall as Creditcall provide the service) is integrated with ALL the UK acquirering banks and we have live customers with all of them too.

If anyone says that Creditcall isn't integrated, just get their name and number and call Neil Bayton in Admin at Actinic. We can then contact that person and point out live accounts that are integrated. This will solve the problem.

Thanks, I will chase them again, ideally I want to use Actinic payments as I am familiar with it rather than a third party so I'm still hanging on for now for Merchant ID's if possible.
