    HSBC problems?

    Hi,

I can't connect to the HSBC secure e-payments page - is anyone else having trouble?

HSBC told me it was unavailable to some ISPs but OK with most and not HSBCs end so no fix.

I've tried with BT and O2 and can't get on, however I dialled in with an old modem via UK2.net and got straight on without any trouble.

Try another ISP temporarily if you can

      All the best Dex

PS, the squawking modem brought back memories!

        Hi,

        Thanks for the replies.

Glad it is not just me!

I'll leave it for a while and see if it sorts itself out - if it is still not on in the morning, I will try another ISP.

        Thanks again,

if you don't have access to another ISP, but you do have a modem - you can use the service we have at http://pinbrook.net/dialups.htm

this is a dialup modem connection for a cost of the call only.

Thanks very much for that, Jo.

I don't have another ISP, but do have a modem somewhere.....

I'm hoping it will fix itself by tomorrow morning??

              Hi,

              Still a problem this morning.

I don't seem to have a problem with any other sites, so surely it is a problem with HSBC rather than the ISPs?

                Hsbc

Just spoken to HSBC Internet Banking Support as I haven't been able to get on since early yesterday affternoon- they say Internet Banking is down and should be up later today but don't know when!!

Looks like they've got a few issues there.

I still have no probs with HSBC, with EPayments or internet banking. Customers don't appear to have any problems either. Are you sure your firewall or something local isn't getting in the way?

Probably HSBC has ip ranges blocked, could have been caused by many things, unfortunately you might be on the same ip range as the ones in the banned list.

The problem is they will need to try and sort out the good from the bad. Could take a while

                      Having the same problem here!

Just talked to BT who say they know about the problem and are working with HSBC fix it.

He suggested that it should be fixed this afternoon, but didn't sound too convincing!

                        Same problems.

I have just spoken to HSBC internet banking who have said that they have servers down and hope that they could restore service within a working day!

I cannot get onto www hsbc co uk homepage either.

We are also having problems. HSBC were very unhelpfull and told us to change broadband suppliers! We are with BT. They said it is BT's fault and not theirs. After speaking to a very helpful BT they say they are aware of this, and have already been investigating following other calls. They have told me it is nothing their end and that it is up to HSBC to make sure their website functions properly. So at the moment we have no resolution and no sign of an explanation.

The thing is, how can it be HSBC's fault? What have BT changed that means BT customers are suddenly having such problems?

                            --edit--

Mind you, I wouldn't trust HSBC or BT to know what they are talking about. Useless, both.

It is also tiscali I believe, and BT tested the website through Virgin and have problems there also. (Just what I have been told)

It has to be HSBC's fault. It's their website. A company as big as HSBC should test it works. I do not know of any other web sites I can't access, only HSBC.
