    wish list actinic payments

    Hi

We are getting quite a few customers confused and worried by the 3d secure element of payment processing. I purchased from mole end today who use sagepay and they use this comment on the form before you click to the section that takes you to enter your password etc. Could something similar be added to the actinic payments screen as I think it will cut down a lot of the queries and failures that we are seeing. TIA! Donna

To increase the security of Internet transactions Visa and Mastercard have recently introduced 3D-Secure (like an online version of Chip and PIN). Depending on the card you have chosen to use and the retailer from whom you are purchasing, when you click Proceed you may be asked by your card issuer for further authentication.

Click proceed to complete your payment. Your transaction may take a few seconds to be authorised, please be patient.

I spotted this on something i brought recently, or very similar anyway. A click on pop up or as someone suggested recently a mouse over description (i think it was mike) But something to explain would be good, although it is slowly becomming common place.

I agree the more sites that use it the better things will get, but so many of our customers have never heard of it they instantly get worried. The fact that it asks for a password and looks like a bank screen they instantly think its a scam. I wonder how many don't phone - we get a reasonable level of failed orders that have hit the payment area. I really think that actinic should look at something similar as I was really reassured by it and prepared for additional questions so the surprise was taken away. D

As an example this is an email from a customer below:

I will not be requiring the flag at this time. The reason I did not complete the order was due a `clinch' on the webpage, which lead me to distrust the site to which I was directed.
I trust this was just an error.
