Hi,

Currently use 8.5.3 business of Actinic and plan to move from Paypal Pro to Actinic payments once we get a merchant ID from our bank

I have a couple of basic questions though, as I don't particularly want to upgrade to V9 as well, due to the cost (ie another £400 odd quid)

1. Can I still make refunds and take telephone payments ?

2. Is there anything that I will not be able to do by staying with 8.5.3

To take telephone payments, depending on who you bank with, you may need a separate merchant ID for MOTO.

Actinic Payments in v8 works pretty much like all the other PSPs. You can take online payments, but you need to log into the virtual terminal (which is called Actinic Payments Admin) to authorise pre-authorised transactions, do refunds, voids, or take payments for telephone orders. I don't think that you can take additional payments on the same card without asking the buyer for their card details again.

These capabilities are all fully integrated with the order screen in v9 including taking additional payments. So you can do all of these actions at a click of a button and without needing to log in to the virtual terminal. Although AP is fine in v8, you get the biggest benefits and most time saving with v9.
