Dodgy Customers

Hello. Whether you might get customers "trying it on" may depend on the nature of your business. With my specialist diet food business, we get some, but they are actually a small minority of the overall customers. I suppose as in life in general, most people are honest with a small percentage who are not. That small percentage, however, can cause a lot of aggro. With my other business, which is cross stitch kits, it is extremely rare, if ever, to get a dodgy customer. In fact, for 20 years I accepted payments by cheque and sent the goods immediately without clearing the cheque, and never had a problem. I don't accept cheques at all with the food business.

I have noticed that 99% of customers who claim not to have received goods, when there is a proof of delivery, have paid by PayPal, though only a third of customers overall pay by PayPal. Most complaints of any kind that we receive, eg goods missing, are from people paying by PayPal.

This is my experience aswell, although i was accused of having a jaded view but i agree with what you have said today i have had claim of non delivery and it was a birthday present and they paid via paypal. always a birthday present. But to be fare there is a number of strikes so it is highly probable at the moment

That really needs to either be in the knowledgebase or be a standard feature!!
Even if it's switch on/off-able somewhere in Actinic.

Right, just tried this and it works for me.

One thing I did notice is that, when I paid using my paypal account (as opposed to just my credit card and not logging in), paypal sent my maiden name back but I put my married name into the Actinic checkout fields...

I have now tried this over the weekend and after commented out the line in question I tried it myself and did indeed get an email with a confirmed delivery address, unfortunately the address entered in the Actinic checkout didn't actually seem to get passed to Paypal and was simply offered the registered Paypal address, so I could end up with an Actinic delivery address and a confimed Paypal delivery address which differ. The problem then would be which address do I use.

Have I missed something or is this how is works for others.

no you have not missed anything, unfortuantely thats how it works, im guessing when the intergration was written no one thought about passing the address details to paypal.

Thanks Darren, in that case I will leave the OCCPayPalTemplate.pl file as it was and not bother with the Paypal confirmed address as I have not had a problem in the past with lack of confirmed paypal address and feel this could create a new problem.
