PayPal callbacks stopped

My integration with paypal has been working fine.

however, since this morning, all callbacks from Paypal seem to have stopped.
I thought this was a temporary glitch, as I noticed on the forum people saying that callbacks were sometimes delayed by an hour or two, but its 14 hours since my last order with a callback.

All orders are now staying in the PSP pending...

Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

Up until today, All orders paid through paypal went into 'pending'

Now none are.

I'm new to this myself, but isn't there a way in the "Orders" screen to see what the PSP error is?

Paypal have informed me that their IPN (instant payment notification) on which callback relies has been broken all day. There is evidently a big backlog of callbacks.
