    Hi,

    Getting error 403

    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/os000001.pl on this server.

when trying to checkout. I have tried refreshing the site. Sometimes also happens when viewing the basket.

    Any ideas ?

    Chris

Try running a network test and and see what errors are reported.

Is this your site: http://www.spaaccessory.co.uk ?

If so, I didn't get any errors at checkout. If it's not, then it's time I got my crystal ball out again.

        Starting to make progress....

I think you may have hit upon the source of my problem Jules. The site you mention is one of my sites, but the site I have problems with is a new site which is hosted by the same provider. I think I must have carried over a setting from the spaaccessory site when building the new site. Just as a matter of interest, how did you know it was spaaccessory.co.uk ?

        Regards
        Chris

A guess from your profile? when asking this sort of Q a URL is useful to help with diagnostics, hence some peeps look at your profile, otherwise its speculation and crystal balls

Check your permissions settings on the cgi-bin directory.

                Problem solved

                hi all,

                Firstly, thanks for your responses.
I tried uploading the Actinic demo site which also had the same problem. My network settings tested fine, so I presumed I had an issue with my isp (Hostgator).
They responded very quickly considering its saturday and found an error with a setting which they have now ammended. The problem has now gone. I'm just getting into upkeeping my sites and I am encouraged by the quality of support available both through this forum and from my isp - thanks.

                  Update

Hi Chris, If you could let us know what the "fix" was, it may help others having the same problem.

I've had this happen to a couple of my sites over the last couple of years, so decided to write a blog post with the solution that worked for me.

                  Check it out here: http://www.thedesignguys.co.uk/hostg...an-epic-battle

                  Have a great day folks
