    Hi Rich,

Yes that page is rather long. I think we're going to remove the images from this section as there's no need for them and this should speed up the loading process.

Just seen the thing at the bottom of the page. I'll check what could be causing this. It's only happened recently I think otherwise I would have seen that. The div at the bottom is just linking to the file displaying the footer containing the address and phone number etc.
    Cheers

Rich has managed to see the page. Have you seen his reply?

The bottom of your pages have ".0"

After which is is a series of iframes and hidden divs with "add this" links... Are you aware of that?

No that's the footer div, beneath that there is the ".0" and then there is lots of code...

Removing the images may make the page load a little quicker, but it is not going to make visitors scroll down. Once you've sorted this problem, you need to re-think how you organise your products IMO.

I agree - I do think that there are too many products on certain pages and that not everyone will scroll but that wasn't my decision. It was taken out of my hands. Maybe I will try again to persuade them to change.

Not sure what's happened with the extra bit of code after the footer div. There's a couple of lines that shouldn't be there. I'm going to remove these and see what effect this has. Thanks for pointing that out. Not sure how long it's been like that but I'm pretty sure it's only a couple of days at most or I would have seen it.

Just in the process of doing a website refresh after changing the script ID and compacting the database so we'll see what effect this has on things.

OK. The original re-direct question looks OK. I put the wrong link into the forum and that's now corrected.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that this has something to do with the domain change and the way it's been implemented. Some things I would check:

            1. The .com redirects are 302 temporary redirects.. This means the whole exercise is wasted as you're telling google that this is a .com site but to use the content from the .co.uk pages. This also means Google is going to see duplicate content which is never a good idea.

            2. Try deleting any blacksheep cookies on your PC. They might be stuck on the .com domain.

            3. The website still uses .com for the email address and the link at the page bottom. Is everything in Actinic now set to .co.uk? I'd change the links and everything else to .co.uk just to make sure.

            4. What is the website address defined in the PayPal profile? Make sure that is the .co.uk address.

            5. When you get the receipt page error. Is that on .co.uk or .com? Copy the URL and try a page refresh. Does that stay on .co.uk or try and go via .com? Paste the url into a header checker page and see what response the web server is giving. That might help.

Wow! Mike that's a great post. Thanks for taking time to do that, really appreciated.

You raise some valid points there and I'm going to look into all of them. I do think there could be some clash between .com and .co.uk and it is my intention soon to move the .com domain over to the new server as well and delete the old site etc. For now I've had to leave it where it is but maybe I need to bring forward those plans. The only reason I haven't yet done so was that I was concerned all the Google traffic would be finding the old site and orders would be going there instead of to the new site.

Thanks for the post Mike. Lots to look into. Will report back with my findings asap.

Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions here. Everything has now been tried but the problem is still occurring. I've been speaking with Actinic support who tell me it's been referred to the development team for their thoughts. It's mighty frustrating while all this is going on as customers are calling and emailing in to check their orders have gone through all the time.

You've got the Addthis thingy on your product pages...

                  http://community.actinic.com/showpos...94&postcount=2

I also notice in the bounce to paypal that the email (business settings) is using the com domain. if the site is on co.uk so should the email.

Thanks Jo. You don't happen to know what the code is for excluding the Addthis button from the psp bounce page do you? It doesn't seem to be posted in that thread or any others I've read.

I have just added the .co.uk equivalent email address to the PayPal account and have now changed the business settings in Actinic to use the .co.uk domain as the account details for PayPal. So at least now the site is hosted on the same .co.uk as the emails are handled and the PayPal account is registered to also. Will see if this makes a difference, although if I can get hold of that code to excluded addthis from the psp bounce page that would also be useful.

                    Thanks for your help Jo.

Just remove it completely from all pages and prove the theory first?

I only suggested getting rid of the addthis code as it has caused other issues on other sites. I dont think its on your psp bounce page, but it certainly is on the product pages.

it may or may not help.. but i think you are at the stage of trying anything now

Fair point Jo, and Lee. Just done an upload whereby the PayPal settings are now using the .co.uk address and linking to PayPal which specifies the .co.uk address as it's primary email address also now, so will see if we get any errors from here.

If that doesn't work then yes my next port of call must be to remove the 'add this' code. Will report back tomorrow with my findings!
                          Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I tried both but we're still getting the general script errors when diverting back to the main site from PayPal. I was sure this would work. I removed the addthis button on each page and changed all references to the .com address to .co.uk but it's still a problem it seems. Can anyone else think of anything we could try? Fast running out of ideas now

Can you copy and paste the url that's in the browser when you get the script error message. That might give us a clue.

It could be a problem with the server if you have changed it.
I had a site that wouldn't work with paypal, it just ran slow, came up with errors .I removed paypal as a payment option and it worked fine. The site was then redesigned and worked with paypal on the test server but not mine when i installed it. Turned off paypal and all ok again. I moved it to an actinic server and turn paypal on and it all worked fine. There was no change in the site in between. I can only concluded with no technical knowledge that there is something in the actinic coding for paypal that doesn't work on some servers.

I couldn't find anyone else with the same problem.
