HSBC Secure ePayments setup guide for Actinic.

I put a small guide together on how to setup HSBC Secure ePayments with Actinic Catalog v9

    1. Obtain your StorefrontID from HSBC. HSBC calls it Client ID (usually starts with UK and end with GBP).
    1. Obtain your CPI Hash Key from HSBC, usually comes in a letter over the post.

Add Payment Method "HSBC Secure ePayments" inside "Settings"->"Business Settings" and configure method adding StorefrontID and CPI Hash Key.

Now tick "Run in test Mode"
    Publish to Web and test.

If your transaction is over £1 you will get an error message right at the end mentioning fraud. This is because during test mode only up to £1 transactions are allowed.

Now, ring HSBC on 0845 7023344 option 4 and let them know that you have configure your site and you are ready to go live.
Help the operator go through the checkout process, wait about 2 minutes on hold and voila, you can now start receiving payments.

We love guides, here's one I did when I was completely new to PSP's Merchants, on HSBC setup .....

However a few things I have learned, which may or may not be of use for newbies....

HSBC use AVS which is a real pain for Digital Downloaders, halts the Autoship, so find a bank that does not do this - if this is possible - or request that it is not used - I am talking to HSBC about this but no success as yet?

HSBC has caused me issues with Foreign Country and Out of Hours transactions, get these turned off they are a pain also for Digital Downloaders.

Do this by contacting their Risk Management team, and indicating your request in writing on company letter headed paper.

OK, these checks are there for a reason so assess your needs but for DD they cause labour intensive and time consuming mopping up as Actinic, (V7 at least), cannot redeem a failed order with a simple "Do It Again" option.
