    Google Checkout with v10

I am trying to setup Google Checkout with Actinic Business Plus v10 and I am having problems.

I am unclear whether my site needs an SSL certificate or not. I spoke to someone in Actinic Support and they say not. However, the configuration setup wuthin Google Checkout does seem to require a https based API callback URL.

Is anyone able to clear up my confusion please?

      Thank you.

Unfortunately this does not answer my question about the SSL certificate.

i thought i read somewere that if you dont use an ssl then GC will use the default shipping and not your sites shipping.

Does you webhost not supply a shared ssl? mind you these days you can probably get your host to sort one out with a static ip for around £100 a year

I do not have an SSL at the moment and would prefer not to unless I have to.

If I have to would a shared SSL be sufficient?

Come on Actinic - can we have some proper documentation please?

To use Google Checkout, you must have SSL enabled for the checkout pages at least. This is explained in the help. Sorry you were misinformed - I will make sure that all our support team are made aware of this.

              Thank you Bruce.

The Built-in help does not seem to mention it. Perhaps a knowledgebase article could be written to cover all aspects of the Integration of Google Checkout?

it would also be useful to know how to integrate with a host shared SSL - if indeed you can or whether the recommendation is your own SSL.

you can intergrate with a shared ssl as google allows you to specify the complete url of the ssl.

Unfortunately i have not been able to put it into a live site due to a problem with the intergration on a live site - support are looking at my snapshot so im hopefull they can sort it.

http://community.actinic.com/showthread.php?t=46843, comes up first if you search for 'Google Checkout' in the KB (which is an option in the Advanced Search on the Community), or you can click the 'Information and Registration' link for GC in the Actinic Business Settings.

I've just noticed it doesn't mention the SSL limitation though, so it wouldn't have helped you anyway - sorry. I will get it updated ASAP.

I'm afraid we don't provide much information about the process on the Google side, though. Because they will keep changing it, they won't tell us, people will get confused, and we will get the blame for our information being out of date.... Been there, done that
