    3D secure issues (Mastercard)

We are seeing connection time outs with the MasterCard 3D secure platform at the moment, I can only confirm its affecting Actinic payments but I can see a lot of noise on the interwebs about it so I expect its affecting all PSP's just now.

As I get more information I will let you know

I suspect it's related to this:

It appears a group of hackers has launched a DDOS attack on mastercard in retaliation for them cutting off wikileaks funding.

This one looks like its going to run on and on and on today, I hear that yesterday it was PayPal that was targeted and its very likely that Visa will be targeted later

Its worth pointing out that Actinic Payments merchants can switch off 3D secure by card scheme, however, please check with your bank as not attempting 3D secure (even in these extreme circumstances) will mean the loss of liability shift and likely additional processing fees.

We've had several callers say that they are getting a blank screen in Actinic Payments today so we are telling them that it's probably this.

But although we have 3DS switched 'on' in V9 using AP to Allied Irish Bank, our site has never asked for either 'Secure Code' OR 'Verified by Visa'. We assumed that this was something to do with AIB.

We're seeing a lot of this too today. Its our quiet time and lots of customers are ringing saying they don't know whether their payment had gone thorough. I'd read the BBC report but wasn't sure if it was connected.

It looks like the attack is over, at least for now. Visa was hit as expected but it looks like it the impact on its services was much less and for a shorter time.

I'm sure you will read more in the news about the attacks but I think it's probably worth expecting more of the same as this story doesn't look like it's going to go away any time soon.

                Reminds me of Animal Farm

Wikileaks supporters are launching ddos attacks against people who speak out against them. Their philososphy is for a free and open internet, the protection of free speech. But their attacks are against that very thing - free speech.

Actually they are not attacking those that speak out against them. They are attacking those that have withdrawn certain services from them such as Paypal donations.
