    Multiple Domains , Sagepay , Cardnet ?

    Hi There,

I am hoping for some advice on this matter.

We are about to launch 3 different sites all selling totally different type of items within the next month or so. Currently we have a Merchant account with LloydsTSB Cardnet for over the counter sales and for internet sales. We also have a £20 per month contract with Sagepay as a PSP.

We spoke with Cardnet today , and they informed us that we will have to pay a minimum of £25per month for each additional domain as they will be classed as a new outlet ? Is this correct ? Also , will we need a Sagepay contract for each domain aswell ?

And were we correct to contact Cardnet to inform them that we have 3 different domains ? Cardnet suggestion that we just accept payment on 1 site for all 3 sites , not sure how practical this would be ?

Any advice would be really appreciated...

    Thanks,

    Eck247.

You won't manage a unified checkout, 3 separate sites is 3 separate checkout processes.

Yeah , thats what i was also thinking.

But do you think we will have to pay approx £25 per month to our merchant aswell as £20 per month to sagepay for each site ?

you can set up sagepay to accept payment from 2 sites to one sagepay account, they charge about £50 to set it up

this is what we have done

        just call them up
tell them you hve 2 sites but want to use one sage pay account.

if your merchant account is ok with this, ours is HSBC

We have multi sites but all selling workwear so allowed to use one merchant account and one PSP account plus MOTO on both

They don't allow multi sites to use the same account if different types of item are sold on each site as different risks to them

We changed Cardnet when they tried to get us to pay about £250 for a new account, went to streamline who offer free account startup for FSB members

            Thanks Chris,

Cardnet told us no problem to use the same merchant number , but said we had to pay £25per month per domain.

What confuses me is this , when Sagepay accept a payment from our customer and then pass it to Cardnet for authorisation , do Sagepay inform cardnet of the domain where the customer has placed the order ? Basically , that Cardnet are happy with the items we are selling on all domains and happy that we use the same Merchant Number , so do we really have to inform them of each domain name ?

            Thanks,

Sorry cannot answer that one but do know streamline more helpfull and far far far cheaper if FSB member than Cardnet of about 4 years ago and also wanted about £250 to open a MOTO card facility
