    Offlline Payments in v.10

    Hi all

I'm just in the processing of moving my shop over to v.10 and it now seems that I have to offer an offline payment service (or, at least my payments tab won't allow me to proceed without entering one). Is this now a legal requirement and have I been breaking the rules in my v.8 store all this time without one?

To be honest, all I see it causing is trouble.

How have you been processing MOTO orders until now?

If you have the 'business' version, there is a MOTO tab for offline orders. There have been rules in place for 4 years now (PCI DSS) which should have stopped you from processing payments manually. You need a specific merchant account to process MOTO orders, so two merchant accounts in effect.

You might see it as trouble, how would you feel with a £25,000 fine planted on your doorstep because you are not complying. The rules are in place to try combat fraud, you can agree or disagree with that, much like with any law, but one thing for sure is that you need to comply, failing to do so can only end in tears.

Do you currently accept MOTO orders (telephone, mail order, etc).
There is no requirement to accept telephone orders if you don't want to and many don't, if that is what you mean.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. We don't accept telephone orders and have no wish to. I have the 'allow offline orders' box unchecked and it's still not allowing to me to not have an offline option.

No problem. I'll sort it out with Actinic.

If you have it unticked ie 'no i do not want this option', why do you think it will allow them? Ticking the measure denotes that you want the option.

It's ok. I've sorted this now.

Basically, although the 'allow offine orders' was unchecked (denoting that I do not want to take offline orders) in the Order Processing tab of the Business Settings it still wanted me to have an offline payment method in the Payment and Security tab.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. Help desk has sorted me out now.
