Google Checkout

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have followed the instructions from the Forum and Actinic to implement Google Checkout, and get the following error message:

A General Script Error Occurred
Error: Error parsing XML; message from parser is: The entity name must immediately follow the '&' in the entity reference. Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner

I have a full SSL Certificate and a staic IP address.

Has anyone any suggestions please?

A quick google search suggests you might need to encode the & as &

I have spoken with Actinic Support, they cannot solve the problem at the moment.

Is anyone out there using GC successfully?

If so, can they check my settings using the attached image please

Possibly Darren B has GC working on his website?

What version are you running?
Do you have any discounts setup?

make sure you untick "Cart Content Discounts At End Of Cart"

this was a bug in earlier versions, the getsatisfaction site has info on the problem you mention, although this was never answered. I think it was fixed in a later version.

I am running 10.03 Business.

I have no discounts set up.

in that case this looks like a support problem, although i would make sure you are using a live account and not a sandbox one and have this set correctly in actinic

Google Checkout Error Resolution

Hi Guys,

Thanks to all those that replied.

I now have the answer why I was getting the error with Google Checkout.

In Business Settings/Shipping and Handling/Zones and Classes I had a Class set up as:

UK, Channel Isles & IOM

Google Checkout did not like the ampersand (&) and it gave the error:

Error parsing XML; message from parser is: The entity name must immediately follow the '&' in the entity reference.Press the Browser back button and try again or contact the site owner.

Changing the '&' to 'and' rectified the error and now everything works as it should.
