    SD payments still works despite hidden

    We are using PayPal commerce platform exclusively with 18.06. I have unchecked SD payments in business settings so it is no longer an option on the website, however it seems some customers are still finding it and using it!
    This is over a week in so unlikely caching, I believe it is where customers have chosen SD payments as preferred in their account.
    I have an open support ticket but little progress sadly.
    I want to end my SD payments but this is prolonging the process as the longer payments come in the longer I need the account active for potential returns/ refunds.
    It is frustrating that an unchecked payment option can be accessed.
    Has anyone else encountered this or found a solution?

    Another bug with PayPal commerce is all customers are now defaulted to keep details private instead of offering a choice so all marketing emails are now a No.

    This bug has now been fixed via support

      Support have had this 10 days now and it is very frustrating receiving payments via a method disabled in business settings.
      If anyone knows how to prevent customers with accounts accessing a disabled payment method greatly appreciated.

        I've had a look at your site and can't see anywhere that SD payments might be available. I suspect you could well be right and this is coming from SD payments being the preferred option in an account.

          I was going to say the easiest way to verify this is would be to create an account, set SD payments as the preferred payment method and then try placing an order and see what happens but of course if you've removed it as a payment option then it won't be possible to set it as the preferred payment method.

          In which case the only option I can think of is to clear SD payments as a preferred payment method in the database. You could do it manually if you only have a few accounts or maybe ask sellerdeck to create a script to do it.

          PS. Or if you haven't done so already, removing SD payments from your list of PSPs in Sellerdeck might do it.

            Mike - please be aware this was for mine so please backup first in case! This will default to not private!

            *edit the file 'OCCPayPal.pl' in the 'CommonOCC' folder under the site folder *look for 'PRIVACY', you should see $::g_ShipContact{'PRIVACY'} = $::TRUE;


            *comment out the line so it reads
            # $::g_ShipContact{'PRIVACY'} = $::TRUE;


            *look again for 'PRIVACY', you should see $::g_BillContact{'PRIVACY'} = $::TRUE;


            *comment out the line so it reads
            # $::g_BillContact{'PRIVACY'} = $::TRUE;


            *save the file and exit
            *update the site

              That all looks very straightforward. I can't imagine why they felt the need to set those in the OCC file.

                  Sadly the fix didn't work, very frustrating to keep the sd payments contract going this long. I needed it available for a sensible time after not receiving payments for refunds and returns. This ongoing error is a costly one.

                    Hi Ed,

                    Sorry to hear that this technical issue is causing you multiple problems.

                    As a gesture and since you are not using a high number of transactions, I've extended your monthly contract by two months so that it does not renew until 10th December. You'll have 350 transactions during that period and it sounds like you are unlikely to use that many.

                    Hopefully within that time period, you'll have a fix and have completed any commits / refunds.
