Payment gateways and merchant account experiences

I'm looking for some experiences regarding Payment Gateways and Merchant bank account.

We currently use Secure Hosting (UPG) as our gateway and Cardnet for the merchant account.
Secure Hosting are fine, but they don't offer transfer in Euro and they don't accept the various odd European methods of payment.
Cardnet are a PIA and we're fed up with trying to get any sense out of them.

After much looking around, SagePay has floated to the top of the pile as being average on cost and they take several European payment methods. They can also provide merchant accounts (with Elavon I think) so it's a turnkey solution.

The others at the top are Ogone, who take just about every method of payment there is, coupled with Streamline.

Any good/bad experiences to be related out there?

I was going to mention sellerdeck payments but seeing the requirement for various European payment options I wasn't sure what Sellerdeck do in this area.

Does Sellerdeck payments support anything other than the usual cards?

we already have Sellerdeck Payments, but it lacks the European payment options such as GiroPay, ELV, Sofort etc and the ability to take Euro and settle in Euro; or am I mistaken?

Sean, no you are right.

Glad that you're already getting the benefits for UK transactions and sorry we can't help with the more specialist European ones.

We use SagePay

We use SagePay for all our payments, coupled with our HSBC merchant account. As well as credit and debit cards, we also have PayPal offered on SagePay. We have never had a customer anywhere say that the system did not accept their payment method. We have been using this for about 9 years and have been happy.

do you know about how long SagePay and PapPal take to settle?
I've heard stories of it being weeks, but I feel these may be anomalies.
