    Card payments with Apple devices.

Can anyone with an Apple device if possible add something to the cart on my website then choose card at the payment stage and tell me if the card fields are visible?

I have had some reports that they are not showing on iPhone and iPad. (I only have Android)

    This is costing me sales!

    Thanks

    Hi Ed

Tried test ordering one of your spotter scopes using my iPhone this time.

When I select card payments I just get a blank screen - no card fields!

Tried a test order on our site using my iPhone and card fields display ok - v18.2.2 with SDPayment by ClearAccept only payment method configured.

Hope this helps - may be useful to get feedback by another using Apple device to verify.

Good luck in getting the issue resolved.

May be you could return a favour by trying a test order on our site using your Android device to verify whether or not the card checkout fields display OK on these devices?

          Hello Ed,

I have a SD 18.2.2 test site set up with both ClearAccept and PayPal cards as payment methods. I just tried a test sale from my Android 14 phone, and the ClearAccept fields are showing but the PayPal ones are not. So it's not just you!

If I access my test site from a PC browser (Firefox), the PayPal fields appear correctly.

Therefore it looks as though something's changed at PayPal's end that's stopped PayPal cards working on mobiles.

That's worrying thanks John, it keeps disappearing on pc and android to now.
Wish list also not working showing internal server error I was hoping it was a glitch at sellerdeck hosting.
tickets raised, this is a very costly issue.

John, I am looking into the issue for Harrison Telescopes and I have just checked your server's error file and I can see similar errors to what I have found for Harrison Telescopes so it does look like PayPal are having issues. Nothing is reported on their status page as yet https://www.paypal-status.com/product/production

Could this still be fallout from crowdstrike?
To clarify first customer complaint was late night if that is relevant.

Just tried a sale on my test site using my old Android 8 phone, and the PayPal fields appeared correctly. They're still not appearing on my Android 14 phone though.

I also tried a test sale on your site using a PC, and at first the PayPal fields didn't appear, but then I left the site and immediately returned, and the fields reappeared.

It feels like there's an intermittent problem with getting through to PayPal's server, in which case it may clear.

On 19th July I had a customer make 3 attempts at paying via "standard" PayPal (not PayPal cards) before successfully paying by ClearAccept. So it looks as though it's a general PayPal issue.

Worrying if so as it's unreported anywhere, it would be nice if they announced it rather than leave customers racking their brains as to what's wrong.
I'm fairly certain if this wasn't just with our sellerdeck websites it would be very widely reported quickly.

Unlikely. I could imagine a scenario where Crowdstrike brings down PayPal and then as servers are fixed PayPal comes back but has issues due to the lower than normal sever availability. As PayPal was not down, even this scenario is not likely to explain the current problem

Downdetector shows higher than normal issues but nothing significant. I'm fairly confident if this was a paypal issue wider than with our websites it would be widely reported.

I just tried to place a dummy order using an iPhone 13 Pro Max

After selecting card payment, all I get is a blank white screen. Even refreshing it several times I still only get a blank white screen.
                            Regards

Well I woke this morning to find a couple of payments in my account but no orders in sellerdeck.
I have voided these for customers.

This is affecting paypal and paypal cards so those with paypal I would suggest checking.

A lot of complaints overnight from worried customers saying they could see pending payments.

A reply from the sellerdeck ticket asking for me to debug and twice saying I should speak to my host..THEY ARE MY HOST.

So I have no choice but to suspend payments until something gets fixed or I go out of business.
