Paypal Pro over Actinic Payments

HI Guys.

Ive been using Actinic payments for some years now and like the functionality of it and how its integrated into Actinic (using V10). However i have always noticed allot of abandoned shopping carts and put it down to the gateway its self is not contained within the checkout on the website its self. recently i offered Paypal Express as an option and the sales have shot up. Unfortunately its not as integrated into the admin as well as Actinic payments. Over the last few days the abandoned shopping carts with Actinic payments has increased and i need to do something about it. So i was wondering if anyone uses Paypal Pro Gateway and how versitile is it. With Actinic i had it set to Pre authorisation so i could still amend amounts and and comit or void payments all within the Actinic admin.

What are your thoughts.

My initial thoughts are that of all the factors that might affect the number of abandoned carts the choice of PSP between Actinic Payments and Paypal Pro is probably way down the priority list.

The key thing really is to understand at what stage in the checkout process the carts are being abandoned and then try to work out why that is and what you can do about it.

I still use paypoint.net but in my recent experience I've probably only had 1-2 of the last 100 orders abandoned during the payment stage and typically most of these can be recovered be sending an email to the customer.

From what i can see its when they are transferred away from my checkout to the Actinic Payments page they just close the page. I always email the customer but never get a reply. While back when the actinc payments was integrated into the checkout i never had any issues but after we weren't aloud to do that the problems have started.

I was lead to believe that you can integrate Paypal Pro into your own checkout or al lease customise the Paypal page to look more like your own site. I find the Actinic Payment page to look very dated now and i think it just puts people off.
