Visa / Mastercard fee cahnges

We got a letter end of last year from World Pay informing us that credit card charges were to decrease, although World Pay didn't know the exact details and that debit card charges were moving from a "pence per transaction" to a "% of sale" fee, in our case instead of 16p for a debit card transaction it would from April 2015 be 0.495%

What my, nor indeed anyone's letter fails to point out is that VISA debit is capping at 50p - but World Pay are not passing this cap on to their customers.

To be fair transactions under £35 become cheaper, but I rightly or wrongly tend to look at the overall figure per month..

Anyway, some good news, we just called WP and have been given a better rate than the figure quoted in the letter and it works out for debit cards if we do the same next 12 months as last 12 months we will pay £120 less in fees to them.

So ring up, have a moan and see what you can achieve........apparently they are getting rather allot of calls
