Sellerdeck Payments not working

I have not had any successful payments via Sellerdeck Payments since yesterday, with several failed attempts, although Paypal Express is working ok. so have this morning tried placing an order myself and found that you could get to the Sellerdeck Payments page and enter all the details but then on submitting the card details get forwarded to an error page which says:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/os000004.pl on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Any idea what may have happened that might have caused this and what I can do to correct the issue.

I have run a network test, which fails:

The test script failed to execute on the web server. The error could be caused by several things. Check:
- the 'Path to the Perl shell'
- the 'CGI script extension'
- the 'Path to CGI-BIN'
- the 'CGI-BIN URL'
- the amount of web space left on your server
- if your server is configured to accept POSTs to CGI scripts
- the permissions on the server:
On Linux/Unix based servers the permissions should be:
cgi-bin (755)– drwxr-xr-x
Online Store Folder (777)– drwxrwxrwx
On Windows based servers (need to be checked with the hosting company):
IIS
cgi-bin = read/execute
Online Store Folder = read/write/execute
NTFS
cgi-bin = Catalog's FTP account needs 'Change' permissions on the directory
Online Store Folder = Catalog's FTP account needs 'Change' permissions on the directory AND the IUSR_<servername> account needs to have 'Change' permissions on the directory

It sounds like it could be a permissions problem on your server so that's what I'd look at first.

The folders /public_html/cgi-bin and /public_html/acatalog both have permissions set at 755

It may be something the webhosts have done, I raised a ticket with them to ask if there have been any changes over the lest 2 days and got this reply;

"There have been some security updates to help protect against Drupal and similar exploits over the past days or so. I'm investigating."

I believe I may have found the new rule you have been triggering, I've whitelisted this - please let us know if you continue to have issues.

Payment now started coming through, although Network Test still fails

it appears many payments have been received in my Sellerdeck payments account but only now starting to be picked up by the desktop software, it appears I am going to get several duplicated orders/payments that I will have to void/cancel.

It might have been more than two days since this started having an effect.

You've had a few error messages like this since Tuesday.

Date and Time = 2018/04/24 21:48, Internal Errors = This transaction couldn't be completed. Please redirect your customer to PayPal.

It's a slightly odd message as it mentions PayPal but it could be saying there's a problem with this method, use paypal as an alternative?

I did wonder if the payments might have gone through as the error was coming from your site after entering their payment details which meant the problem might have been during the callback.

Out of interest how do I bring up a list of the error messages that you are able to see.

All the error messages are in an error file on your website.

I always find the easiest way to is open any product or section page on your website using your browser and then just change the page name to error.err
