New to the forum, hoping for a review

We have been using V8 for the last 18 months and sales are going ok, building all the time. I am just about to upload to Google Base but like most people am having to fix the missing condition.
I am not really web savvy and have received some help and am coming to the conclusion that we are going to upgrade to V9 Business plus to get multi site and also voucher code and a number of other things inc. telephone support. Before we move and invest I would really welcome any feedback and suggestions.

We have tried to make the site as easy as possible from funcionality and so are looking forward to potentially a shorter check out process with V10 (comments welcome again).

    many thanks

i like the overall feel, but noticed a few things

1 a mix of sizes sometimes you offer uk shoe sizes, othertimes you offer european

2 on my netbook all products are below the fold

3 if you want me to buy this product online i'd like better hi res images, have you looked at lightbox (demo here http://www.drillpine.biz/v8lightbox/acatalog/Books.html, plugin available here http://www.drillpine.biz/actinicstuff/index.html

4 you are using standard terms, you should tightening these up

5 designer handbags http://www.ludberry.com/acatalog/Handbags.html i clicked on image expecting a larger one - nothing happened. the size icon showed me shoe sizes which isnt relevant to handbags

I think you could dramatically reduce the height of the header portion whilst still maintaining the high impact visual effect.

Initial feeling when i see the site is good, looks a nice eye catching theme. The site width though and the MPP instead of SPP is seriously years behind where you want to be, you can't be in tune with where you need to be if you are making these decisions, the same conditions existed 18 months ago at launch.

Go wider 1000px or fluid and convert to SPP, both will be a big boost to the site, far more than anything else you will do and also converting to SPP will allow the GB feed to work and be accepted.

          Many thanks

          To Leehack, drounding and pinbrook

Many thanks for your comments I really appreciate the honest feedback and look forward to implementing some/all of the ideas you mentioned, as soon as possible.

Pinbrook, we used to have large hi res pop ups for every product and they are on the site still, however the people who built the site and have helped implement the design have said that with the current home page it's not possible with the redirects for the new products, hot products etc.... but i didnt believe them so Actinic are looking into it and should have that sorted soon. However i do like the lite boxes and will be implementing this ASAP.

          Great people and many thanks

          Alex

            Single Product Per Page

            Leehack

Many thanks for your input with reference to SPP.

As a fair novice to this I am unsure as to how we would achieve this, could you give me a rough outline of exactly what you mean? and also is this achievable automatically or do we have to redo the whole site?

            Any help greatly appreciated,.

There is a tutorial on my site, have a read of that and if you have any questions after, ask them in here and one of us will try to help.
