    Site review on new menu

Just done a rewrite of my website, http://www.leisurebuildings.com with a new menu system.

Would be interested if anybody could take a look and see how easy, or otherwise, to navigate, thanks.

Any other thoughts would be gratefully received.

The fact that the sheds menu is expanded, but the others will not is a bit strange, you try to expand the others. It hovers, flys out and links ok, although center aligned text always looks really amateurish to me. I'd give it 6.5/10, think a standard collapso would have been a better idea. Get rid of the google ads too, oh my what are you doing with those on there, that's a real clanger.

I'm not keen on the mix of caps and lowercase

I'd agree with Lee, definitely get rid of the google ads, they give the site an amateur feel and gives the impression of someone more interested in making money from clicks on adverts than selling a product.

The menu is a bit confusing and felt that there were long delays after clicking which made me feel I wanted to leave the site I find another site where I could move around the site easily and quickly. The hover colour of the menu items seemed to be nearly a second behind my mouse.

Under the main content you have the text 'this is the end of the main content', I guess this is left over from some previous testing.

The prices are not very prominent and could be made easier to find.

I felt the header area at the top of the page could be made a little taller to give room for more information, as it felt a little squashed up. This would allow you to display your opening hours clearly rather than the customer having to know to hover over the telephone number button to see them.

The basket summary details in the top right corner don't sit properly within the green strip and you have a small white rectangle slightly to the left for no apparent reason.

I wasn't a great fan of the green buttons that all change to 'Click Here' when you hover over them, it looks a bit dated.

The Terms & Conditions on the checkout page are wider than the page width and partially disappear under the Google Ads in the right hand column.

The first changes I would make would be:
        1. Remove the Google Ads.
        2. Replace the menu with something better, like the Collapso or Accoridian menu available from Norman at Drillpine.

Sorry that all my comments have been negative, but hope you see them as constructive criticism and wish you good luck.

Thanks guys, that is the sort of feedback which I feel is sometimes needed. When you are closely involved with the site then you can become blinkered.

I take you point about the Google Ads. I put them on a few years ago when I thought that 75% of my visitors were from abroad and this meant that my site was no help to them and by then clicking on the ads brought some revenue. I just checked on Google Analytic that out of 19,871 visitors - 16,344 were from the UK which surprised me. I think I will take off the Google Ads for at least a month to see if improves the sales.

I did put a longer delay on the menu opening because I found they were coming out too quick and seemed confusing. I need to take a look at this and maybe try to implement a collapsing menu as Lee suggests. I didn't think that the text being centred was a problem, it looked neat to me but can see that it is not maybe as professional as it could be.

My son mentioned about the 'Click Here' buttons so needs changing. and also need to make it wider at the top for more information to go in.

Thanks for the advice so far, I am always open to constructive criticism and welcome any observations as it is can be very hard to make an appealing sales site.

Hi, it is a good site. Just try to change(increase) the padding left for <ul class="1">. It will give descriptions more room and will be much better.
About you navigation: I prefer this option, http://www.drillpine.biz/v9accordion_menu/, take less space and clear show the subcategories...no any confusion for the customers.

There's something broken with the layout in IE7. The main are of sections is duplicated - to the right and slightly up. The header is partially hidden on the left and mint-cart is scrunched-up vertically.
