    Domain forward

    Hi guys

a client of mine uses actinic and has sent the following thought...just after some feedback really...thanks

Our domain www.missionmx.co.uk has a forward to
    http://www.missionmx.co.uk/acatalog/index.html
I've been told that because of the way the forward is setup we're losing
    ranking positions in Google...???

I agree with him, use both home pages for optimum setup IMO. Forwarding the site home page to the shop home page is not and never was a great idea.

Hi...thanks for that...so would you suggest actually creating a new page (ie homepage)...optimising that then linking through to the shop?

surely the problem with that is that everytime he creates a new category etc then he would need someone to amend the static 'non-actinic' homepage?

      thanks

Tell him to have a read of the brochure page tutorial on my site, there is no need to go outside of actinic to create a home page, actinic can do it all for you in the exact same style as the rest of the pages.

ok great...so that would eliminate the acatalog/index.html wouldnt it. Also...on all his window titles he starts with his company name...is this a default action...for example he has:

          Mission MX: Keyword1, 2, 3

but wouldnt this be better for people searching for keywords...most relevant first?....

          Keyword1, 2, 3 : Mission MX

          thanks

No it wouldn't remove the shop home page, an actinic site has 2 home pages as already outlined. If his titles aren't as he wants them, i presume he has not added anything into the relevant fields, so tell him to fill out what he wants and that area will then play ball.
