First Actinic site - review please?

I have only created one site before and this is my first e-commerce site. I've just uploaded it for the first time to test it and am now in the process of adding all the meta tags and descriptions. The payments function should be live in about 7 days. I would appreciate comments on the design and functionality etc., that I have put in so far but I've got some further ideas to add to the content as I get more time.

    site url: www.staircasekits.co.uk

    Thank you (and be gentle!)

I've just added the meta tags and descriptions which I hope should work ok. Comments gratefully received.

I like the look and feel. The first things that hit me are:

      - get rid of the bouncing delivery truck. Too distracting.
      - The checkout / view cart / summary on the RHS look all bunched up.
      - The header expands with page width but the body of the content doesn't. Looks odd on large screens.

Its unfortunate that the colour scheme matches actinic's - there have been plenty of discussions about that recently. Personally it conjours up bathroom store not staircases - you might want to rethink the colours.

I'd remove <<CLICK THE IMAGE TO VIEW PRODUCTS its distracting, and shouldnt be necessary. If you think you need it you should rethink the design, ecommerce should be intuitive.

increase the font size for descriptions - its far to small

put the info re free deliver in the info page too - it will not be seen easily at the bottom of the front page only - i only found it because i looked for the bouncing image that mike referred to

          Thank you.

Thanks for the reviews. I certainly agree that the body doesn't expand with page width but despite spending ages on this, I just can't track down how to fix it. I'm using Expert theme, so I don't know if this makes a difference. Instructions gratefully received!

Also, can anyone advise me how to "unbunch" the checkout/viewcart/summary part as you pointed out?

I'm afraid the colour scheme has to stay - client's corporate colours for the past 2 years.

A <br> or a <p> between them should move them apart.

              Thanks

Thanks, Mike, for the comments and the instructions.

I've made some changes and will make some more as I get time.
