Can SEs read Exif tags?

In theory they should be able to. Has anyone heard any rumours about plans for them to do so though?

I know the metadata is only supported in JPEG, TIFF, RIFF and WAV files but this could be an important future aspect of SEO.

Came across this post whilst searching for a link for a client.

Check out: http://www.labnol.org/tech/google-im...if-data/14211/ as it seems that Google might read Exif.

However, more worringly, is that iPhone and other smartphone / gps / wifi embed the longitude and latitude into the Exif, so you can work out where the photo was taken.
