Actinic SEO specialist, do I need one?

Do I need a SEO who specialises in Actinic

I have never used an SEO before and was wondeing if anyone has any suggestions.

I am not even sure if an SEO company would help my site or is it easier doing it myself.

Thank you for any help given.

I had a long reply typed but decided a short one is better:

DIY. The results will be better and you'll save a lot of money.

If you are going to have some SEO work done you do need someone that also understands Actinic but you can DIY as the last post said.

Hi Richard, As Actinic is itself a really well optimised software, most of the things get done for you. You can do it yourself and after checking your site, it looks like you are doing most of the On page optimisation anyway.
Hiring an SEO specialist or not does really depend upon how much time you have to spend on SEO regularly as regularity is the key to achieve SEO success.

There's mainly three parts to SEO.
Keyword Research is the starting point which sets the playing field to do the onsite and offsite SEO.
Onsite SEO is the easy part, and is well documented. The hard part is the offsite SEO, were basically you need quality links pointing to various parts of your site.
But, search engines are forever changing. Now to dominate the first page you have other avenues to take advantage of e.g. PPC, Live twitter feeds, videos, images, maps, shopping, blogging, news.. Not to mention changes to the algorithms that may affect previous work (e.g. the May Day update), and new features like Google Instant to keep an eye on.

I think the question you should ask yourself is; do I have enough time to do this myself?
"If my answers frighten you then you should cease asking scary questions"

Closely followed by "who on earth can I trust to do this for me as I don't have the time"
There are a lot of SEO sharks out there.

              SEO for Actinic

Very good question. How can we tell how good an SEO company is? I've had a quote from KeySearchConsultancy, and they reckon they can get first page results, etc., but it would involve an additional file upload every time I update my site, which is several times daily.

What is this extra file you need to upload, ask for details, sounds on the surface that they do not understand how actinic works.

I've heard this before. The SEO company copies the homepage and optimises it and after uploading you have to upload the homepage again and overwrite the Actinic managed one.

I'm amazed how SEO complanies only focus their efforts on the homepage - presumably because that in doing so they don't need to get involved with Actinic.

Ah yes that makes sense, they sound like they shouldn't be touched with a barge pole and you should therefore run for the hills.

Thanks. They want 100% payment up front too, which is a bit worrying....

Cheap at the price for a guaranteed number one position in Google for the phrase of your choice.

No - ask them if they already have Actinic clients and if so contact them dircetly and ask what they think of their services and how they handle Actiniic.
