Meta tag confusion

Hello everyone!

I have tried using the software attracta to analyse my website and it is stating that among other issues with my meta tags, i have 420 duplicate tags on my site.

I insert the meta keywords and meta description using the content part of actinic (i have no idea about coding etc)

I am guessing that since for most of my products i use a popup window to display a larger picture that maybe this is why i have so many duplicate tags?

I am wondering if this is a big problem and if so how do i fix it?

Any help greatly appreciated!

There's an option in site options to set whether pages also inherit the meta content from their parents, check to make sure that is set to false. That could be the problem.

Unfortunately this doesnt seem to have helped with the meta description duplicates which are still up there at 420. Any ideas?

You'll need to enter your own meta description for each page.

You probably have the popup pages using a layout that inherits the standard meta information also, if you firebug a product page and then the popup page and compare the two, that should confirm whether that is true or not.

When i write a meta description it uses the same one for that particular product section. Since i have a number of products in each section could that be why i have so many duplicates?

I cannot seem to find anywhere in the site options that allows you to change the meta descriptions from the parent, i have set the option that states: "include parent meta content in each section" to false but that is the only option i can find relating to meta information
