Could some please tell if this is right.

In sub section pages the key words display both main and sub section keywords.

Main Section -

Meta Des box: "Main Section work"
Meta Keys box: "One, Two, Three"

Displays
Meta Des : "Main Section work"
Meta Keys : "One, Two, Three"

Sub Section Key Words -

Meta Des box: "Sub Section work"
Meta Keys box: "Four, Five, Six"

Displays
Meta Des : "Sub Section work"
Meta Keys : "One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six"

There's a true/false switch regarding meta keyword inheritance in site options, reverse it and it won't happen then.
