SEO assesment

Are there any new recommended methods/tools for doing an SEO evaluation on my site. I am using Google Webmaster Tools and analytics, but am battling to get any higher on the ratings / hits. I also use a few shopping engines CPC.
I know a lot has been documented, but was wondering if there had been any recent developments.
I welcome any input or criticism.

I have looked at www.majesticseo.com but the costs are high and would think would be more suited to an SEO specialist.
