    The ultimate SEO question

So my sex toy site has been up and running for just over a year. In that time, I have paid for SEO, I have blogged, I have written articles, I have keyword researched, I have read the Actinic forum and followed advice, I have requested and got some links but, in this time my organic search visitors has increased from about 8 visitors a day to just under 30 visitors a day. Not quiet enough to retire on yet
    .
Whilst I know its a highly competitive market, I would have thought it would not have been unreasonable to expect a lot more daily visitors.
    .
My site is Sinful Weekend and any advice on increasing visitor numbers via organic SEO would be most welcome.
    .
Converting them once they arrive is not a concern to me at the moment as these rates are quite encouraging.
    .
I do not believe I am being penalised by search engines and I am not using any black hat approach (as far as I know).
    .
Any help/advice/recommended websites would be most welcome...thanks in advance.

Have you used Google anylitics to see what and who is visiting your site

Have you considered using Pay Per Click with adwords

Use long tailed phrases as your keywords and maybe keep the word sex down to a minimum as most will just associate with porn

In your industry I think you need to stick with the main keywords. I suspect potential customers are probably looking around for inspiration rather than focused on searching for something specific like a "Komasaki Sqweeler".

Google keyword search says there are 300,000 searches a month for "sex toys", only 480 a month for your chosen term "Luxury sex toys".

      - You are in position 7 for "luxury sex toys"
      - You're only in position 119 for "sex toys"

Bottom line - In my opinion you need to be on page 1 of the serps for the main keywords and maybe in the top 3 results for the minor phrases if you want to get decent traffic from the search engines. Right now you're a long way from that.

Your site does appear to be in google. Just badly ranked pages.

      Some page specifics to fix:

      - No keywords meta tag on the product pages
      - No H1 text on your product pages
      - H2 text just says "Customer also purchased"

In terms of ranking, you have to look at somebody like lovehoney and see how you compare:

Sinfulweekend: 86 pages indexed, 41 external links to home page (mostly web directories which are a waste of time)

Lovehoney: 70,000 pages indexed, 5,733 external links to home page.

If you really want to compete in the serps you need to get far more links in.

The other thing to focus on is increasing your public presence (which will also get you more links). Participate in relevant forums, create an external blog, have a facebook page, etc.
