    Moving back to Sellerdeck

We moved our site www.piratepartysupplies.co.uk from Sellerdeck to (a shopping cart beginning with "M") about a year ago and since then rankings and more importantly visitors/sales have drastically dropped so we're going to reload the site with Sellerdeck at the end of November with "cap in hand".

Any advice and/or possible problems we can expect and thoughts on how to avoid them would be appreciated....

    Hi,

When you moved away from SellerDeck did you ensure that you old URL's were redirected with 301’s to the equivalent URL in your new setup ?

If this wasn’t done it might not make any difference moving back as the original links may well be lost.

        Hi Pete,

        Welcome back.

We do try hard here at SellerDeck, although we know we're far from perfect.

We have many SellerDeck sites turning over millions, a handful over ten million pounds and the highest I ever knew was one that had sales over £20m before they moved from SellerDeck. So it's certainly very possible to have exceptionally successful businesses running on SellerDeck.

Incidentally, the site turning over north of £20m and that moved had sales of only £3m a couple of years later. The move from SellerDeck wasn't the only factor, but I don't think that it helped.

Of course, if you are looking for an online solution we recommend that you look at Actinic Online.

        Chris
