    Vanishing Shipping Charges

I have set up the following site with 'category' shipping.

http://www.ypd-books.com (The site has been live for about 4 weeks - so please don't test through to the checkeout - unless you fancy buying a book that is!!)

Unfortunately, for whatever reason, I am unable to get this to work on any browser I test it on with the exception of FF 2.0.0.6. I have tested it on IE6, IE7, Netscape 9.0b1, Opera 9.10 and Safari 3.0.2 Not only does it not work on these browsers, I cannot see the code for it to work in the 'source'. It is apparent and does work on Firefox.

Anyone else having any issues with this I would like to hear from. My clients are Mac users and obviously view on Safari and IE. More concerning is that it is not charging customers the postage charges.

In an effort to narrow the problem down, I have marked the site in all the browsers under the privacy tab, to allow cookies.

    Just about reached wits-end!!

I had a look too and, without actually checking out and paying, it seemed ok.
What exactly is it that it's apparently not doing right?

        Hi Malcolm,

        You're too quick for me!!

Are you saying that the postage charges are being charged OK?

I looked in Safari and IE7 and it added postage on exactly the same as it did in Firefox for me

How bizarre! What I'm saying is that the only browser I can get it to show any charges on is FF on my desktop. Any of the other browsers I've tested on do not show any charges and looking in the source code, don't turn up there either.

BUT, if you and Tracey have found it OK, it must be at my end, but God knows what it is. I've cleared my cache to test. As long as the client receives his postages he'll be happy!

Thanks very much for your feedback (immediate from both of you!)

Working and adding postage charges for me also. You need to delete cookies on your PC. I did spot 2 errors though:

When adding to cart the bounce page has some white text on white background (the word 'here') so unreadable.

Also, when you are completing checkout if you miss anything out, the green box at the top which provides the user with a message telling them what they have missed out, is green text on green background.

If this site is live and in production, you want to get those sorted out asap, especially the second one, that's a real show stopper, people will be looping round on checkout wondering wtf is wrong. Ticking the T&C's link is a very common thing missed out, currently they have no help telling them the problem.

                Sack the Hungarians I say.

ooh..I meant to mention that. I did "forget" to check the T&Cs box and didn't get a warning message...well, didn't see it anyway. Obviously, I knew what the problem was..but not everyone would

A perfect example, must be the most common omission on checkout. Darned checkbox lol. Even i clicked 'next' 3 times thinking wtf is up with this til i realised and highlighted the error box.

Just goes to show that I'm not perfect!! Not yet, anyway. LOL

I must say that its gratifying to know you can post and receive an answer before you've taken a breath.

Thanks again for all the input!

                        Regards,
