    drop ship location

Is there a way to assign a ship from location to a product that differs from the default?
We are in California, and for example, a customer in New York ordering a product that we could drop ship from New York, is still seeing 3000 miles in unnecessary freight charges on our check out screen, especialy when looking at air freght.
Often we lose the east coast orders at this point.

Or is this an item for the wish list?

    Thanks
    Dave

That will probably not be possible with Actinic to in effect split the order and delivery charges depending on product and user location (which could be anywhere in the US and any combination of products)... this will most likely require a dynamic online database to calculate the permutations and Actinic works offline producing static pages.

I'm pretty sure other solutions can handle that sort of thing out of the box.

Probably not wise to mention a competitors product on the Actinic forum.

Perhaps, although it would be pretty stingy of actinic to kick up a fuss about a product that could do something they can't. In that respect, its not really a competitor.

Sorry Matt - I did have to edit your post. It's not us being stingey - it's just this is Actinic's forum. The other solutions can advertise on their own forums

If a field was added to the product page called "ship from zip code (or postal code)" could the shipping routine be modified to check if there were data in this field, and if there were, to calculate accordinglyfor that particular line?

                Hi Dave,

I have asked our development team about this and have been told that it's not possible within Actinic I'm afraid. I have added it to the wish list for you.
