Server Error 500 on digital shipping

I'm trying to test digital shipping, but if I click on the link in the email I get a Server Error 500. Is this down to the hosting not being configured correctly?

That article deals with the FTP permissions, which work. Do you know what permissions the general public need on which folder in order that the link that is sent in the digital download email actually works?
