    Shipping Costs to Switzerland

I have my shipping zones set to UK - FREE POSTAGE an rest of Europe set to £2.50. REST OF THE WORLD £10.00

A customer from Switzerland has just tried to order and the website has charged £10.

Switzerland does not appear as a country to select with the other countries in europe.

Switerland is inside Europe but not in the European Union. Royal mail airmail treats countries like Switzerland as it does Spain Sweeden etc.

How do i get round this on the website.

I am not very good at explaining this but hope you understand my problem.

    My site is www.craftsudo.co.uk

I have searched for euope & european union shipping costs etc but an unable to find anything.

'right click' on the Europe zone in your shipping section and add the country in question.

Do the same for the tax section in business settings.

Upload after that and all should be well.

But not for VAT, as Switzerland is outside the EU

Business Post charge us and we therefore have to charge the customer an Import Clearance Charge per item for Norway & Switzerland so i'm not sure but it might be worth checking with Royal mail if this would also be the case (I can't see why it wouldn't be).

I've posted to Switzerland via RM without any unusual charges.

              From Royal Mail website:

Do I need to fill in a customs declaration? You do if you’re sending packets or parcels to a country outside the EU and you need to sign and date the declaration and include your name and address. In general, if you’re posting to an EU country you don’t need a Customs declaration, but there are a few exceptions: (detailed Customs information).

You will also need to complete a customs declaration for the following EU destinations:
              • Channel Islands - Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Sark
              • Andorra
              • Canary Islands
              • Gibraltar
              • San Marino
              • Vatican City State
So yes, you might well be charged a customs clearance fee by your shipper if you are sending to Switzerland and NOT using RM (which has the declaration system instead). But I can tell you that our mail which arrives from England rarely has a sticker (can't remember packages ever having one, tbh) and it has always arrived within a couple of days.
