Splitting I.O.W, UK & Ireland delivery

    Hello

I'm not sure if this is possible but my UK (England) shiping is fixed at £7.95 and I only deliver to the UK now as couriers are charging stupid amounts for us to send to I.O.W and N.I and I can't afford the loss anymore in deliverying to these areas so I want to create a delivery option for I.O.W & N.I but..........and this is the problem, I.O.W & N.I are classed as UK and I don't know how to solve this

So, the only thing I have for a delivery option is United Kingdom but I want a drop down menu option for the above areas

I've gone through all the "categories/zones" etc created new, deleted this that and the other and now I'm totally stuffed as nothing that I try seems to work or display when I test it

Sorry for an obvious question but it is doing my head right in and I wanna scream!

    Thanks

Have you tried setting then up as "countries" in their own right? You will be able to assign whatever costs you need to then.

    Settings | Locations

    Then create your new zones/classes

Not a problem, you may have to add them in the Business Settings | Payment & Security & Business Settings | Tax depending on how you have your PSPs and VAT setup.

Ah, all is 15% vat and just for England but I'm getting a lot of peeps from N.I and I.O.W all of a sudden and I simply can't absorb the courier costs now

All payments are auto so I may have to set it up as manual capture which is a pain and time consuming to do (processing them I mean) but I need to do something

Good help from you and I thank you

Not really sure what you mean here, you shouldn't have to do any extra work just because they're not in Mainland UK.

The reason you need to look in the payments section is that sometimes payment methods have been limited by location, so you'll need to get the new "countries" listed in there too.

No need to thank, that's what the forum is here for. TBH getting my head round the postage was a real battle when I first used the software, but once you know what's possible it will all slot into place. :-)

Cheers Rich, it's seldom I come on here as I know V8 fairly well but the delivery charges always stuffed me as I don't send to other countires except England but being that Ireland is England did it mess it all up for me

I'll do what you suggested at the weekend and I'll reply to this thread in case anyone else has fallen foul to this or perhaps solved it

              thanks

                    Hi
I also had the same problem -and sorted it - but make sure you don't put the country codes as say 'NI' for northern Ireland - otherwise your payment provided will not recognise the country code - they treat NI as Nicaragua and will throw out the payment as not matching - You must use UK2 or UK3 etc
I have added N Ireland, Isle of Man and Scottish Highlands

                      oops!

That's exactly what I did do - NI for Northern Ireland

Best I go change it now

                      thanks for that tip :-)
