Shipping Cost Display

Hi

Does anyone know if it's possible to display the current estimated (for say default UK location) Shipping Cost of the items in the Shopping Cart?

We already have a countdown to free shipping shown in the top right hand corner of every page - but it would be good to give an idea of the shipping cost too.

On simple shipping the cost is displayed on the shopping cart. I seem to remember one of the mods on here Rich Brady did something whereby the location was asked for on the shopping cart page and then gave the shipping costs at an early stage.

He gave it as a way of improving conversion rates so you may well find it if you search on that.

had something to show standard shipping which i use on my kite site. I am trying to find the thread but cant at the moment.

it basically uses the weight of the product and displays the shipping cost, you have to set these yourself as it does not pull this from the shipping table but from the info held with the product.

Thanks - this looks like the sort of thing I'm looking for - I want to use the weight of the products in the basket to then use a formula to give an estimated shipping cost.

You can give an idea on each product, but a reliable cumulative total updating as products are boughts seems a bit of a pipe dream i'm afraid.

This is the code i use, i took jo's and changed it to suit. It looks at the product weight then displayes the shipping as defined in the code
