    Olympic Postcode Surcharges

How are people handling the surcharges for London during the Olympic games?

Most carriers are imposing a surcharge for a vast swathe of London and then the Olympic Village being hit by the sponsored exclusivity (I wont start the anti-competitive argument here).

Setting up locations for all the postcodes is not feasible so wondering how everyone else is approaching it? Existing shipping tables are not linked to a carrier but set up manually.

We have decided reluctantly not to charge the customer the surcharge.

Personally think it is a bit of profiteering by carriers.

Be very careful with deliveries to olympic venues - the charges for those can be really high, cityilnk is £25 and ukmail is even more. We are going to swallow the olympic area charges but will be charging extra for deliveries to olympic venues - it's unlikely that we will get any of those though.

It may be as well to send things by FedEx UK as they are not surcharging any deliveries, at least that is what the local depot has told us.
