Limiting class by price?

Is there a method or workaround for limiting certain shipping classes by price?

For example, both 1st class & Special Delivery being available up to £50, with 1st class being made unavailable over £50 & only Special Delivery available.

I'm currently using zone / class & I can't really mess about with weights any more - they are complex enough as I've already altered them to suit other scenarios......

Yes - it's simple. Create a First Class table by Value. Add your "up to" values, with the highest being £50. Tick the "Don't Allow Excess" box. Above that level only Special Delivery will show:

Thanks, but I should have made myself a bit clearer;

I'm currently shipping by weight & want to continue to do so, but add a cap on certain services by value so that the customer is forced to choose a service with adequate insurance if required.

Edit:- I've just seen your second post, am I right in thinking that the excess adds additional charge based on the order weight? I could be selling items at for example 1Kg that cost anywhere between £10 & £350 - I wouldn't want to charge additionally on the low value items.

Does that make sense?

Yes it does add the excess by weight.

I don't think there's a way to combine value and weight.

This has got me thinking though - the "Orders in this Zone/Class free over" feature must look at the order value to be able to work, would those at SellerDeck Towers not be able to add an "Orders in this Zone/Class not allowed Over" ?
