Royal mail end to non barcode mail

Had an email today from royal mail, 30th June is the deadline for all mail to carry a barcode.
I send around 25/30 parcels a day and now each will require inputting every detail into click and drop...impractical and time consuming.
It seems just about every other ecommerce platform can integrate easily except sellerdeck.....

    Any ideas or solutions appreciated

    Hi Ed,

We've been working on a campaign to explain some options (which isn't quite ready yet), however since you've raised it let me give you a quick summary for you to research:

    1. GFS
Sellerdeck integrates with GFS which will then connect with many carriers. This can be challenging to setup, so worth scheduling multiple days and a good budget for this.

    2. Third Party Plugins
There are a number of developers who have built plugins for various requirements, including this specific requirement. Code Path is best placed to offer a solution through one of their plugins - https://www.codepath.biz/

    3. Back Office Integration
One option is to connect Sage Accounts will other applications and to use the Sellerdeck Sage Link.

Hopefully that gives you some direction.

    Thanks, Josh.

Thank you but these are all complex and potentially costly (we don't have or need sage).
I would have thought integration with royal mail would be essential for all ecommerce solutions these days.
It would be a useful addition to marketing the software to.

        Hi Ed,

There is always going to be an investment upfront for connecting anything with your ecommerce platform, regardless what platform you are on.

The second option is very affordable, I recommend you research this.

        Thanks, Josh.

A couple of forum members have asked to be directed to more information on this plug-in, so I have provided a link below:

We went with Andy's solution recently after the latest price hike for non barcoded parcels. At the time it looked as if Royal Mail were going to go this way and we really did not want to move from Average Weight system which had served us so well. We felt we had to move because I could see this date coming. It is well worth doing it because of the price differential on non barcoded, you are looking at saving 35p per parcel. That soon mounts up and Andy's plugin works very well, he knows what he is doing and I would highly recommend. If you have a rep then you should be able to get a discount on a Zebra printer and then after that labels are free to reorder within click and drop. I have not seen a clarification and need to get one from our rep about if this is just for parcels or if it is for letter and large letter as well.
