2028 EU Customs reforms proposals - Seller must charge VAT on all import B2C

    I stumbled on this article:

    https://www.vatcalc.com/eu/eu-2028-s...nd-ioss-limit/

    Thoughts?

Digging at bit into this, seems to be forcing everyone outside the EU to sell to the EU with Incoterms DDP?
    - no more sales under DAP terms?
    - we need to charge the VAT and any applicable DUTY? (The sellers are forced to know/calculate the VAT Rate for each country & calculate any applicable DUTY per tariff)
    - I think Sellerdeck you can setup VAT rates... but DUTY? (Thankfully UK origin is tariff free, but the item is not UK origin, then...? I don't think Sellerdeck can handle a fee based on "product level origin based" - maybe separate each product with their own origin?... use "component"? - I've never used that... is it possible? = if it is possible, we have to add a component to every stock item?)
    - I assume clearance agents no longer required for goods destined for EU
    - forces everyone to register for IOSS scheme to report/pay the EU VAT?
    - the Sellerdeck Reports are always wrong for us...

The aim is "seemless" trade for the EU buyer, no suprise fees
: I can't see it being 100% seemless... eg. Italy has a Radiometric Scan at customs for certain products, cost of scan & fees = ??
Working...
